We'll see if I decide to stick with a monthly review post or not but I'm going to give it a shot, starting with June. It seems like a great way to simplify this blog yet still recommend books!
I only completed three grown-up reads in June, only two I want to discuss just yet.
The Calm Birth Method (secular, nonfiction)... Lots of good tips!
Really Very Crunchy (Christian publisher but secular in nature, nonfiction)... I love the Really Very Crunchy YouTube shorts and I enjoyed her book, too.
For my kids' shelves:
The Enigma Girls (secular, YA, nonfiction)... I'm always interested in a good WWII book and this one, about code-breaking, didn't disappoint. I have liked every Candace Fleming book I've ever read.
Evan Miller is Waking Down (Christian, middle grade, dystopian fiction)... Thoroughly enjoyed! Not sure if this will become a series or remain a standalone but I think it works either way.
Haven (secular, middle grade, fiction)... I have some big fans of animal books in my house so expect this cat book to be a big hit.
A Horse Named Sky (secular, middle grade, fiction)... Horse books are also all the rage around here.
Iceberg (secular, middle grade, historical fiction)... I have now liked three books by this author and know this Titanic story will be a big hit.
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma (secular, middle grade, fiction)... This is a very beloved series by one of my kids and I can see why!
